Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – It was like watching the beginning of a NASCAR race—shoppers were ready, police officers were ready, store employees were ready. Then the flag was waved (not really, the doors were just opened) everyone was off and on their way to do their Christmas with a Cop 2017 shopping.

The Clarksville Police Union sponsored Christmas with a Cop and were able to invite approximately 270 youngsters to be part of this year’s shopping extravaganza.

The volunteers who came out to be assist the shoppers were amazing—officers, deputies, and volunteers from the Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Peay State University Campus Police, Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni, Clarksville Police Department Explorers, Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and a host of others.

There were many smiling faces and a lot of interaction and consultation to help the shoppers pick out their gifts of choice. Some had in their mind exactly what they wanted while others agonized over their choices, making sure they got the biggest bang for the shopping buck.

Mission BBQ and Walmart provided some yummy goodies to energize the shoppers before and after shopping. The spirit of the holidays was brimming over as Santa made an appearance to wish all a happy holiday.

Christmas with a Cop 2017 made the holiday season brighter for all who were part of it. The Police Union’s sponsorship of the Christmas with a Cop was made possible by the generosity of the citizens of Clarksville. Thanks to all who helped make the program a resounding success.
