Clarksville, TN – Jordan Harmon, a 2017 Austin Peay State University alumnus, was named Director of Development for Athletics Fundraising within the University Advancement office at the start of December.
Harmon, a St. Louis native, will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to enhance Austin Peay’s 16 varsity sports. In that role, he will be assist the department’s efforts to cultivate and steward major gifts for the athletics department. Harmon replaces Alaric Klinghard, who left the position this past summer.
“I am excited to have Jordan join our team,” said Kris Phillips, the Executive Director of University Development. “He is passionate, focused and understands what it means to ‘Be A Gov!’ I have no doubt he will help lead athletic fundraising to new levels at his alma mater. He has come in and already made an impact in his first few weeks.”
Harmon graduated from Austin Peay with a bachelor’s degree in finance and was a four-year member of the Governors baseball team.
“I am looking forward to meeting our alumni, friends and companies that are just as passionate as I am about this great university,” said Harmon. “After my four years at Austin Peay as a student athlete, I am excited about being able to help continue to grow the university and its athletics department. Surrounded by great leadership and co-workers, I’m more than eager to dive into this opportunity.”
