The Governors struggled offensively against SIU Edwardsville shooting an uncharacteristic 27.9 percent from the floor going 3-18 from beyond the arc.

Montgomery County Emergency Agencies respond to morning House Fire in Woodlawn

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeClarksville, TN – Multiple agencies in Montgomery County responded to a house fire in Woodlawn on Friday, December 29th, 2017.

The fire at 2150 Jim Taylor Road was reported to 911 at 7:50am.

The house was fully involved when Woodlawn Volunteer Fire, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene.

There was an early morning house fire on Jim Taylor Road in Woodlawn on Friday.

City of Clarksville to offer Christmas tree recycling

 

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Beginning Monday, January 1st, 2018, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Forestry Division and the Clarksville Tree Board will offer Clarksville residents fresh-cut Christmas tree recycling at Heritage Park.

Residents can drop off their undecorated, unbagged, live Christmas trees during park hours, dawn until dusk, through Friday, January 12th.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Jacksonville Jaguars are the Tennessee Titans’ longest-standing division rival. The clubs have met at least twice each year since Jacksonville began play as an expansion franchise in 1995. For the first seven seasons of the rivalry they played in the AFC Central, and for the last 16 years they have been members of the AFC South.

The teams have met a total of 46 times, with the Titans holding a 26-20 advantage. For the last eight seasons (2009–2016), the Titans and Jaguars have split the annual series.

City of Clarksville offices to close for New Year’s Day

 

CTS buses will offer Operation Safe Ride on New Year’s Eve

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – City of Clarksville offices will close Monday, January 1st, 2018 to observe New Year’s Day.

City Public Safety departments will be on duty as usual and all essential City services will continue.

Clarksville Transit System will conduct Operation Safe Ride on New Year’s Eve from 11:00pm December 31st until 3:00am January 1st. No regular bus service will run on New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1st. Normal route service will resume Tuesday, January 2nd.

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – Earlier this month, the new Motorcycle Advisory Council held its first meeting.  The “MAC” was created to support and advise the Federal Highway Administration on reducing motorcycle fatalities and improving infrastructure across the country.

The ten member committee held its meeting in Arlington, VA, and is comprised of experts in a variety of motorcycle and infrastructure topics.  The day long meeting was to discuss work zone improvements, roundabouts, roadside hardware, crash testing and other topics.

NASA partners with American Girl to inspire children about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – NASA is collaborating with a well-known doll and book company to inspire children to dream big and reach for the stars.

Through a Space Act Agreement, NASA partnered with American Girl to share the excitement of space with the public, and in particular, inspire young girls to learn about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

NASA provided the company subject matter experts for their advisory board, provided input for an upcoming book series, and also reviewed merchandise as it was developed for a new STEM-inspired character to ensure authenticity and adherence to agency graphic and media usage standards.
