Officers are prepared to offer emergency assistance, advise people about the nearest warming centers and shelters, and arrange transportation as needed.

Clarksville’s Office of Community and Economic Development works with the area’s social service agencies to help coordinate homeless services. The agency also offers utility-bill assistance for qualifying households.

The Salvation Army, 931.553.8494, which has a shelter and various homeless services, is operating under its White Flag procedures, in which it waives restrictions on how long someone is able to stay in its shelter during cold weather.
