3-0 to start Ohio Valley Conference play.

Behind a hot shooting night from outside and its typically stingy defense, the Govs toppled UT Martin, 75-69, before a national audience on CBS Sports Network to remain unbeaten in the league.

#7 Tennessee Lady Vols get 70-59 win over Auburn Thursday night

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – Senior Jaime Nared recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 7/7 Tennessee to a 70-59 victory over Auburn (10-4, 1-1 SEC) on Thursday night at Thompson-Boling Arena. The win snapped a seven-game win streak for the Tigers and moved Tennessee to 14-0 for only the fifth time in school history.
 
Freshman Evina Westbrook chipped in a career-high 18 points and a game-high six assists, while senior Mercedes Russell added 10 points and four blocks on the night for Tennessee as the Lady Vols improved to 8-0 at home this season.
 
Daisa Alexander paced Auburn in scoring with 16 points, while Tiffany Lewis and Janiah McKay each added 10.

Clarksville Police reports over 1100lbs of Old and Unused Medicine Safely Disposed Of

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The old and unused medicine drop boxes at Clarksville Police Department’s three locations has taken in over 1100 lbs. (1127.15 lbs.) of medications for 2017, helping to reduce the potential for medicine abuse and the negative impact on the environment by improper disposal.

The drop boxes are available between the hours of 8:00am – 4:00pm at three different CPD locations: 135 Commerce Street, 211 Cunningham Lane, and 1584 Vista Lane.

Austin Peay State University Student-Athletes finish fall semester with record 3.110 GPA

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – An impressive fall semester for Austin Peay State University’s student athletes translated into the classroom with the department’s varsity teams posting a record 3.110 grade-point average for the Fall 2017 semester.

The department saw a record 204 student-athletes receive academic recognition during the recently concluded fall semester. Records also fell with the total number of athletes named to the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll (97), earning Austin Peay dean’s list recognition (107) and posting a perfect 4.0 GPA during the semester (51).

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Dunbar Cave Road Water Outage

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has turned off water service on a section of Dunbar Cave Road between Warfield Boulevard and Theresa Drive to repair a water main leak.

Residents in the Swan Lake Village subdivision; Warfield Drive, Village Drive, Auburn Drive, Alton Drive Theresa Drive and Laurel Drive area also included in the water outage.

Clarksville Police request public help identifying Pro Vapor Burglary Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police are asking for assistance identifying burglary suspects. On December 31st, 2017 around 4:45am, two men broke into Pro Vapor on Tiny Town Road while the business was closed.

They took an undisclosed amount of money from the business. The one man is shown on video while inside of the business.

Andrea Weichman, Kevin Padilla, Ronnie Raikes Jr., Kristopher Herrera, Raymond Holmes, Detrich Williams, Debbie Abrams, Julia Campbell, John Cornett, Christopher Drechsler. Michael Larson, Marcus Lax, Samuel Mannhardt, David Skwiat Jr., Gayland Thompson, and Dante Turner have all been assigned to work in the Detention Services Bureau.
