Nashville Predators Team Members Teach Clarksville-Montgomery County Kids Basic Hockey Skills

Downtown CommonsMontgomery County, TN – On Friday, January 5th, 2018, members from the Predators Team Get Out And Learn (G.O.A.L) Program came to the Downtown Commons Outdoor Ice Skating Rink to teach children ages four to eight-years-old some hockey basics.

The Predators Team provided two free lessons at 5:00pm and 6:00pm on a first come first serve basis for children who signed up in the local area.

Initially only one lesson was offered but when it filled within a few hours, Montgomery County Chief of Staff Jeff Truitt quickly put in a request with the Predators for a second lesson which also filled up quickly. There were 30 slots available for each lesson.

“I love seeing these kids out learning something new and fun that they would not otherwise be exposed to in Clarksville. We appreciate the Predators Team bringing this opportunity to our youth,” said Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett.

Parents also have the option to sign their children up for the free four-week G.O.A.L. course in Nashville where they can get introduced to the sport of hockey without the expense of purchasing equipment.
