Clarksville Parks and Recreation Centers offer youth activities

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a full slate of programs for youth in the coming weeks, many of which are first-time programs, at the Kleeman Community Center, Brut-Cobb Community Center and Crow Community Center.

Start Smart Soccer

Start Smart Soccer is a developmentally appropriate introductory soccer program for children 3-4 years old offered 10:00am-11:00am Saturdays, March 3rd to April 7th, at Kleeman Recreation Center. The program prepares children for organized soccer in a fun and safe environment, preparing the children and their parents for organized soccer without competition or the threat of getting hurt.

Cost is $40.00. Pre-registration is required. Register online at www.cityofclarksville.com/parksandrec

Basketball Skills and Drills for Girls

This program will focus on basketball fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting, defensive positioning, footwork and basic offense. Each session will end with the participants playing an organized basketball game. This program is for girls 9-16 and will be offered from 4:30pm-5:45pm Thursdays, March 8th-29th, at Burt-Cobb Recreation Center.

Cost is free with center membership, which is only $5.00 annually. Pre-registration is required. Register online at www.cityofclarksville.com/parksandrec

Growing Up Wild

This early childhood educational drop-in program builds on children’s sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife through activities. This is a drop-in program for ages 3-7 on Thursdays from January 11th to February 22nd at the Crow Recreation Center.

Cost is $3.00 per class. Pre-registration is not required.

Indoor Toddler Playground

Parents are invited to bring their toddlers, ages 1-4, to this drop-in program providing a variety of indoor recreational activities, games and unstructured playtime at Burt-Cobb Recreation Center. This program provides toddlers with the opportunity to improve their gross motor skills, make friendships and create memories. This program is Mondays from January 8th to March 26th.

Cost is $2.00 per class. Pre-registration is not required.
