Nashville Predators Fall to Chicago Blackhawks 2-1

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN The Nashville Predators came out flat tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks and never really got their rhythm, losing to the Chicago Blackhawks, 2-1.

Blackhawks goalie Anton Forsberg was magnificent in goal, stopping 42 shots on the night. Forsberg made 22 saves in the third period alone.  Chicago has won two straight with this win tonight.

Just 3 minutes into the contest, Chicago’s David Kampf opened the scoring with a wrister over the shoulder of starting Nashville goaltender, Juuse Saros and the Blackhawks held a 1-0 lead.

Chicago would take that lead into the first intermission, but when the second period began, the Predators appeared to have a little more energy.

Kyle Turris tied the game for Nashville at the 2:12 mark, taking a pass from Scott Hartnell to tie the game at 1-1.  Craig Smith had forced a turnover behind the net to feed Hartnell the puck.

Both teams put pressure on net, but Forsberg was having a career night for the Blackhawks.  At 14:33 of the second period, Chicago took the lead, 2-1 on a Vinnie Hinostroza “one timer.”  Chicago never relinquished the lead.

The Predators lost for the first time in regulation since January 2nd, thus ending their eight game point streak.

Nashville returns to action Thursday night with the L.A. Kings visiting Bridgestone Arena.  Puck drops at 7:30pm.
