Black History Month features ‘The Alex-Zan Story’
Clarksville, TN – In celebration of Black History Month, Clarksville Parks and Recreation will present “Words of Power: The Alex-Zan Story” at 5:30pm on February 13th, 2018 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center located at 1190 Cumberland Drive.
The event is free to the public.
He delivers a powerful message about overcoming obstacles as he tells the story of how the Charlottesville Twelve helped pave the way for today’s youth.
“We’re proud to bring Charles Alexander to Clarksville as part of our citywide celebration of Black History Month,” Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan said. “His inspiring story will set the tone for an important month of learning and honoring our history.”
Alex-Zan is an author, TV producer, columnist, and an in-demand presenter for schools, conferences, workshops and churches around the country. His passion for inspiring people has led two cities to proclaim “Alex-Zan Day,” and he’s a national humanitarian award winner.
As part of Alex-Zan’s visit, he also will lead an anti-bullying discussion for youth attending the City’s after-school program at 3:00pm, February 13th at the Burt-Cobb Recreation Center.
