Nashville Predators win thriller against New York Islanders 5-4

 

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators won an overtime thriller to begin their four game road trip tonight, against the New York Islanders, 5-4.  Ryan Johansen tied the game with just under one minute in regulation, then THE captain, Roman Josi scored the game winner to earn the Predators the two points. 

In what can only be described as one of the most exciting comebacks in Nashville Predators history, Nashville gets the win in a battle of goaltenders as Pekka Rinne and New York’s Jaroslav Halak put on a clinic.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsLexington, KY – Playing its best ball of the season, 15th-ranked Tennessee heads to Rupp Arena on Tuesday night, February 6th for a showdown with rival Kentucky. The game is set to tip at 6:00pm CT and will be televised on ESPN for “Super Tuesday.”

The Vols (17-5, 7-3 SEC) enter the contest as winners of their last five games and eight of the last nine. During the stretch, defense has been the key for UT’s success. Tennessee has held its opponents to under 65 points in each of the last seven outings and now ranks 6th in defensive efficiency in the KenPom rankings.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department wants to make the public aware, there is an illegal video being distributed through Facebook Messenger involving a young girl performing an illicit act with an adult male. It has been circulating across the country.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, DO NOT SHARE THIS VIDEO even if it appears to be coming from a friend. There is no purpose to forward, share, or view the video in an effort to catch to catch the perpetrator.

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Leaders of the Clarksville Cycling Club met with Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan recently to discuss ways to promote bicycle-related activities in the Clarksville area.

Alex King, board member and past president, and Lawrence Mize also signaled support for the City’s efforts to create an advocacy group to promote a more bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly community.

Clarksville Police Officers Shot at after attempting Traffic Stop

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On January 3rd, 2018, around 4:55pm, Clarksville Police Officers attempted a traffic stop in the area of Circle Drive when the tag on a maroon Blazer did not come back registered to the vehicle. The vehicle fled from the officers when the traffic stop was initiated.

It was later found behind a house on Woody Hills Drive. Officer Hudgin approached the vehicle, he heard voices, and started to yell verbal commands, at which time, Jason Evitts, appeared from the corner of the house with his hands up. When Evitts was told to get on the ground, he complied and was handcuffed by Officer McLaughlin.

Instant Peay Play: APSU Softball opens an open era this week

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will open its 33rd season of play this coming weekend, February 9th-11th, as it travels to Statesboro, GA, to participate in the Georgia Southern Eagle Round Robin.

This season-opening weekend will also mark the first games played under new Govs head coach Rodney DeLong, who was named the programs ninth head coach in June 2017 after serving on the coaching staff at Georgia Tech.

APSU Men's TennisLouisville, KY – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team dropped a tough 7-0 decision against Louisville, Sunday.

The Govs (0-4) knew they had a challenge ahead with Louisville (4-3) boasting a ranked singles player and a ranked doubles pairing.
