Clarksville Association of REALTORSClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 the Clarksville Association of Realtors® (CAR) took part in a Realtor “Day on the Hill” at the state capital in Nashville.

Members of the CAR held meetings with Rep. Jay Reedy, Rep. Curtis Johnson, Rep. Joe Pitts, Rep. Tim Wirgau, and Sen. Mark Green.

“The Clarksville Association of Realtors is an active and engaged partner in establishing public policy to improve the industry and help protect consumers,” said Rep. Joe Pitts, of District 67. “Today’s visit was another opportunity to keep important issues in front of the Tennessee General Assembly and build relationships,” said Pitts.

“If we’re not participating in the process, then someone else is making decisions for Realtors and homeowners, and their interests won’t be heard,” said Charles Pecka, 2018 CAR President.

“I feel more knowledgeable in where our leaders stand on these issues. I may not agree with their stance, but I at least know what they are,” Said Joann Garcia, Clarksville Realtor and member of the 2018 CAR Governmental Affairs Committee.

“Our perspective as real estate professionals is needed and valued by our representatives,” said Melinda Kelly-Major, Clarksville Realtor and member of the 2018 CAR Governmental Affairs Committee. “Today was a reminder that we all need to be involved in the process,” said Kelly-Major.
