Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces new programs at Recreation Centers

Offerings include adult fitness and special events for youth

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a full slate of programs for youth and adults at its three Recreation Centers in the coming weeks, many of which are first-time events.

Events include: Valentine’s Day Party, Boot Camp Fitness, Fit Golf, Wacky Olympics, and 3 on 3 Basketball League.

Valentine’s Day Party

Dance the night away while enjoying fun activities such as face painting, arts and crafts and refreshments. Join us from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, February 9th, 2018 at the Burt-Cobb Community Center.

The cost is $3.00 and the event is open to ages 6-12.

Boot Camp Fitness

This new fitness program is designed to help participants build strength through a variety of intense group intervals over a 45-minute time period. This program is 6:30pm-7:15pm Tuesdays and Thursdays from February 27th, 2018 to April 5th, 2018 at the Kleeman Community Center.

The cost is $60.00 and pre-registration is required. Available to ages 16 and older.

Fit Golf

Calling all golfers ages 16 and up! Learn ways to strengthen and protect your body as an instructor guides you through exercises that are specific to golf. Fit Golf will take place from 5:00pm-6:00pm Wednesdays and Fridays, March 7th-30th, 2018 at the Crow Community Center.

The cost is $40.00 and pre-registration is required

Wacky Olympics

It’s Crow Recreation Center’s crazy twist on the Olympic Games! There will be contests including minute-to-win-it games and more. Participants are encouraged to wear a wacky workout outfit and tennis shoes. The games will be from noon to 3:00pm on March 3rd, 2018.

This program is for ages 8-16 and is free with recreation center membership.

3 on 3 Basketball League

Play the three-on-three basketball you came to know and love as a kid at Burt-Cobb Community Center. This league, for ages 18 and up, will be set up with bracket play initially and conclude with a single elimination round-robin tournament. Each half-court game will be played in two 12-minute halves. Games are played on Thursday evenings beginning at 6:00pm.

The season begins February 22nd, 2018 and runs through March 8th, 2018. The cost is $75.00 per team.
