Tennessee Governor Encourages Adults to Apply at TNReconnect.gov

Tennessee State GovernmentNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has that announced the application is open for adults to enroll tuition-free this fall at a community or technical college through Tennessee Reconnect.

Tennessee Reconnect builds off the groundbreaking Tennessee Promise program, which provides high school graduates two years of tuition-free community or technical college, by establishing a last-dollar scholarship for adults to earn an associate degree or technical certificate free of tuition or mandatory fees.

APSU Women’s Tennis falls at Dayton, 4-3

APSU Women's TennisDayton, OH – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team fought valiantly, but lost narrowly by a 4-3 score line, Friday, at the Five Seasons Sports Club.

The Govs (1-4) once again only played with five players, which gave the Flyers (5-4) an automatic point at No. 6 singles. Fabienne Schmidt and Lidia Yanes Garcia won at No. 1 doubles, but the Flyers took both No. 2 and No. 3 (by forfeit) doubles to have a 2-0 lead going into the five contested singles matches.

APSU Men's GolfClarksville, TN – With impending weather in the middle Tennessee area, the timing could not be more perfect for Austin Peay State University men’s golf to take off for the sunny shores of Savannah, Georgia for the Invitational at Savannah Harbor, hosted by William & Mary.

The two-day event kicks off with 36 holes, Saturday, on the 7,287-yard par-72 track, wrapping up with 18 more on Sunday.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – After the media filled the airways with the photo Clarksville Police sent out, the 18 year old female saw the photo and called into 911 and said she was safe and unharmed.

Clarksville Police met with her to find out what transpired and to verify her safety. Based on the information provided, it was a domestic related situation.

Clarksville Police are investigating Possible Abduction

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police are working what they believe is a possible abduction or kidnapping. CPD has very little information and are going on the appearance of the situation based on a photo, video, and a witness account.

On Friday, February 16th, 2018 around 2:15pm, Clarksville Police Officers were called to the area of Short Street and Sandburg Drive. A witness showed officers a photo and video of what appeared to be a white female being held in a choke type hold by possibly a black male being forced into a Black Hyundai Sedan.

Clarksville Police are looking into a possible abduction that happened Friday afternoon.

APSU BaseballSt. Louis, MO – Shortstop Garrett Kueber scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to give Austin Peay State University’s baseball team a lead it would not relinquish in a 4-2 victory against South Dakota State, Friday afternoon at Billiken Sports Park.

Austin Peay (1-0) saw its offense rally just after South Dakota State’s Newt Johnson tied the game, 2-2, with a leadoff home run in the top of the seventh.
