Dave Kaske named new Montgomery County Animal Care and Control Director

Montgomery County Animal Care and ControlMontgomery County, TN – Dave Kaske has been selected as the new Montgomery County Director of Animal Care and Control. Kaske has over 26 years of diverse animal control, public safety and administrative experience that he will bring with him to Montgomery County.

Kaske most recently held a position as the Deputy Director of Winnebago County Animal Services in Rockford, IL. Prior to serving as deputy director, which he began in 2014, he served as patrol commander. Kaske also has vast public service experience working as a loss prevention manager, chief of public safety and information technology manager.

Kaske completed his B.S. in Management of Information Systems Program with National Louis University and earned his A.A.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from Rock Valley College.

“I appreciate the work the Montgomery County Animal Control staff has been doing to maintain since the previous director left. We have a strong and dedicated team down at MCACC. Dave brings a unique and comprehensive background to the position of Animal Control Director that focuses on efficient practices and leadership. We are certain his experience will benefit the citizens and the animals in our community well,” said Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett.

“I am honored to be joining the team at Montgomery County Animal Care and Control, as well as continuing to build on the great things the staff has accomplished over the last few years. Continued Animal Advocacy, moving as many animals out of the shelter as possible through adoptions and rescue efforts, and developing community assistance and education programs to help reduce owner surrenders to the facility, are some of the challenges I look forward to tackling as a team. I am super excited to be a part of the Montgomery County community. The tremendous hospitality and pride everyone has shown us already makes us feel right at home,” stated Kaske.

Kaske replaces Jeanette Ferrell who accepted a position in Portland, Oregon in January.
