“It’s wonderful when the high-quality work of our Parks and Recreation Department is honored by peers across the Southeast,” Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan said. “We’re blessed to have such creative and innovative work on behalf of our citizens.”

Riverfest, the City’s annual music and entertainment festival in McGregor Park in September, was recognized in part, for its innovative use of Square at the event, eliminating the need to use cash and tickets. The process produces real-time updates of revenue during the event and enables quicker vendor payments after the event.

“We are very excited to be recognized as a leader in the event industry,” said Jennifer Letourneau, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Director. “I am very proud of the team and the work they do for Clarksville.”

The SFEA Kaleidoscope Awards recognize marketing, programming and overall event quality and acknowledge the highest level of achievement in the festival and event industry throughout the southeast United States.
