Clarksville Police charge Juvenile for Making Threats towards Kenwood Middle School

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, March 1st, 2018, around 10:00pm, local law enforcement was made aware of a potential threat against Kenwood Middle School which was supposed to occur on March 2nd, 2018.

The Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and Clarksville Montgomery School Officials all worked in concert to expeditiously investigate the threat.

A juvenile was charged after making threats of violence toward Kenwood Middle School faculty and students.

The investigation revealed a middle school juvenile had become angry with an acquaintance and some teachers and had made threats about shooting up the school.

The juvenile has been detained and will be charged with Civil Rights Intimidation which is Tennessee Code Annotated, 39-17-309.

Additionally, during the course of the investigation, it was determined the juvenile did not have a method or means to carry out the threats and did not have access to a firearm.

The lead investigator is Detective Hurst.
