Utilities to waive relocation fees for qualifying households
Clarksville, TN – City of Clarksville utility departments are waiving qualifying fees and deposits for area residents forced out of their homes by damage from the February 24th, 2018 tornadoes and severe winds.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan has authorized the Clarksville Gas & Water Department to waive payment of a security deposit or connection/reconnection fee for customers who provide written proof of substantial storm damage to their property or proof of displacement from their property because of storm damage.
CDE Lightband, the City’s electric utility, also will waive the $30.00 electric service connection fee for customers who relocate to the CDE Lightband service area because of February 24th storm damage, and can show proof of displacement.
CDE will offer two ways to help some residents offset the cost of the $150.00 deposit charge.
In lieu of a deposit, CDE Lightband will accept:
- A credit score deemed satisfactory and acceptable to CDE Lightband. This process takes approximately 10 minutes and can be accessed by phone.
- For active-duty soldiers, A Screaming Eagles Deposit System (SEDS) deposit guarantee. This option is available for members of the Fort Campbell Credit Union. Information is available through the In/Out Processing Office at Fort Campbell.
