Clarksville Police reports Citizen foils Walgreens Attempted Robbery

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – An early morning attempt to rob the Walgreens 1954 Madison Street was foiled by an alert citizen who saw the robbery in progress and called 911.

On Thursday, March, 8th, 2018, Clarksville Police officers responded to a Robbery at 1954 Madison Street, Walgreen’s. Four men entered the store, in pairs, at different times.

One of the men brandished a handgun and told the employees to get on the ground.

In the meantime, two of the men jumped over the pharmacy counter into the pharmacy area.

That’s when one of the robbers noticed a man on the phone in the outside drive thru area and alerted his accomplices, at which time, they fled on foot from the business.

The males appeared to be in their late teens or early 20s. When they left the business, they were last seen running along the side of the building nearest Madison.

So far, no vehicle has been identified as being involved, but police are canvassing the area for additional video surveillance or witnesses. No one was injured and nothing was taken.
