Bob Clement Book Signing hosted by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan to be held at Customs House Museum

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – On Sunday, March 25th, 2018 Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will host a book-signing event featuring former U.S. Rep. Bob Clement at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center from 2:00pm-4:00pm.

The book-signing was rescheduled from January 14th, 2018 after a snow and ice storm hit Clarksville, postponing the author’s visit.

“I look forward to welcoming my friend Bob Clement to Clarksville and the Customs House Museum, and I invite our community to come out and meet him,” Mayor McMillan said. “Bob has served our state so well over many years of public service, and I’m sure Clarksvillians will enjoy his new book about the life and times of such a distinguished Tennessean.”

Clement has been conducting signing events around the country, particularly in the State of Tennessee, and donating books to public libraries.

“Presidents, Kings, and Convicts” provides behind-the-scenes accounts of some of Clement’s memorable career events, beginning with his childhood growing up in the Governor’s mansion as the son of Gov. Frank G. Clement, to becoming a TVA director, military officer, college president, successful businessman and a member of Congress.

The book also examines the current hyper-partisanship in politics today, current Tennessee politics, leadership dynamics, and how to restore public service and politics as careers worth pursuing. Each chapter of the book ends with “Clement’s Contemplations,” humorous musings about politics and life.

The event will include remarks from Mayor McMillan, Clements’ presentation and a question and answer session. After the program, Clement will sign copies of “Presidents, Kings and Convicts,” which will be available for purchase at Seasons, the museum store.

The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center, 200 South 2nd Street in Clarksville, is Tennessee’s second largest general interest museum. It features fine art, history, and children’s exhibits.
