The Govs (1-13) were swept in the opening weekend of OVC play but were highly competitive in each match. Against the Bruins (6-10), history suggested the match would be competitive, but the Bruins came out hot and took the doubles point.

Things did not much better for the Govs as Belmont rattled off four straight singles wins to put the match out of reach. Timo Kiesslichdid win an epic three-setter against Zak Khan for the Govs’ lone point (6-3, 4-6, 10-8), but the Govs lost two other three-set matches, a trend that has hurt APSU this year.

The Govs continue OVC play next Friday at Tennessee Tech.
