APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – With a quick turnaround after last week’s Citrus Classic in Florida, Austin Peay State University women’s golf returns to action at a familiar haunt with the Saluki Invitational, hosted by Southern Illinois at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, Illinois.

A stacked field will travel to Hickory Ridge for the par-72, 6,017-yard course. In addition to the Govs and host Salukis, student-athletes from Chicago State, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, John A Logan, Lindenwood, Lipscomb, Loyola, Navy, Northwestern, Rend Lake, UIC and Ohio Valley Conference foe Tennessee State will be in attendance.

This marks the third consecutive spring the Govs have traveled to Carbondale for this event. Last season, weather shortened the event to 36 holes, wherein the Govs finished fourth, led by Ashton Goodley‘s top-five showing and alum Amber Bosworth‘s ace in round two.

The Govs and interim head coach Amy McCollum will put the same five in the lineup this weekend as competed in the early part of the week in Sorrento, Florida, albeit with a different order. Thanks to her runner-up showing earlier in the week, junior Reagan Greene will appear in the No. 1 spot for the Governors, followed by senior AnnaMichelle Moore, sophomore Meghann Stamps and juniors Ashton and Taylor Goodley.

McCollum believes that the experience in the lineup will pay dividends in the event.

“We’re looking forward to competing in this event and we’re excited to continue building our confidence after all of the positives from earlier this week in Florida,” McCollum said. “There’s a full field here and one of the strengths we have going into this event is that everyone but Reagan has seen the course before. The course knowledge we have here will definitely be beneficial off the tee and around the greens.”
