City of Clarksville to celebrate Arbor Day, April 4th

City of Clarksville to receive 29th Tree City USA Award

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville will celebrate Arbor Day and its 29th Tree City USA award at 10:00am Wednesday, April 4th, 2018 at Moore Magnet Elementary school.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will attend and issue an Arbor Day proclamation. The City Forestry Division will accepting the Tree City USA award.

CDE Lightband, the City’s electric and broadband services utility, will receive a Tree Line USA award, and Austin Peay State University will be presented the Tree Campus USA award.

The Clarksville Tree Board has sponsored an Arbor Day Art Contest and students who submitted winning artwork also will receive an award and a seedling tree to plant in their yard. The Tree Board also will donate a nursery tree to the arboretum at Liberty Park on behalf of the contest winners.
