Morehead, KY – Austin Peay State University beach volleyball team sweeps Morehead State in a double set of duals, Monday.
The Govs made the most of their early afternoon start with three of the five pairings sweeping their Eagle opponents in straight sets, as Kaylee Taff and Chloe Stitt only allowed Morehead to score a combined 24 points in their two sets on the court.
Ginny Gerig and Cecily Gable, as well as Claire Darland and Brooke Moore, also dominated in their first pairing on the sand.
The Governors continued their dominance into the afternoon, only allowing Morehead State one set in the final five pairings. Gerig and Gable wrapped up their day with their second-straight two-set win, while Nina Korfhage replaced Darland in the number two pairing, giving APSU two early points.
Jenna Panning and Haley Turner continued their winning ways, picking up two victories on the afternoon, while Ashley Slay and Cori Theiss only gave up eight points in their first set on their way to a two-set victory. Kaylee Taff and Chloe Stitt rounded out the Governors’ attack with a three-set thriller taking the win 15-9 in the deciding set.
