Severe Storms, High Winds possible Tuesday for Clarksville-Montgomery County

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service reports a strong cold front will sweep across Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee Tuesday evening, April 3rd, 2018.

Severe storms are possible late Tuesday afternoon and evening. The best chance for severe weather will occur west of I-65. The primary threat is damaging straight-line winds.

Large hail and isolated tornadoes are also possible.

In addition, a Wind Advisory is in effect from Tuesday 10:00am morning through 10:00pm Tuesday evening. South to southwest winds will increase Tuesday morning up to 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 to 45 mph at times.

This strong winds may blow down a few trees, tree limbs, or power lines.

With the colder air being ushered in after the cold front, freezing temperatures and areas of frost are possible Thursday morning.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions

A Wind Advisory means that winds over 40 mph are expected. Winds this strong may blow down a few trees or tree limbs and cause isolated power outages. Driving may also become difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Stewart County, Montgomery County, Robertson County, Sumner County, Macon County, Clay County, Houston County, Humphreys County, Dickson County, Cheatham County, Davidson County, Wilson County, Trousdale County, Smith County, Jackson County, Perry County, Hickman County, Lewis County, Williamson County, Maury County, Marshall County, Rutherford County, Cannon County, De Kalb County, Bedford County, Coffee County, Wayne County, Lawrence County, and Giles County.
