Austin Peay State University Baseball falls to Southern Illinois, 10-6

APSU BaseballCarbondale, IL – First baseman John McDonald hit his first home run and drove in four runs but Austin Peay State University’s baseball team could not hang on to an early lead in a 10-6 loss to Southern Illinois, Wednesday afternoon.

McDonald, who made his season’s first start at first base, provided a two-run home run in the fifth inning to give Austin Peay (16-13) a 5-3 lead. It was one of his three hits – each driving in a run – for his second three-hit game this season.

APSU Softball secures 1-0 win at Tennessee Chattanooga

APSU SoftballChattanooga, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team only scored one run Wednesday versus Tennessee Chattanooga, at Jim Frost Stadium, but their pitching made it hold up, as the Govs defeated the Mocs for the first time in eight all-time meetings, 1-0.

Kelsey Gross and Morgan Rackel combined for the five-high shutout for the Govs (21-10), with Gross (4-3) going the first 4.1 innings versus the Mocs (16-22) – giving up three hits, walking two and striking out one.

Clarksville Academy Students help build School Dorm in Peru

Clarksville AcademyClarksville, TN – This past February a group of 25 students and parents from Clarksville Academy journeyed to Peru.

In addition to applying skills learned in class and visiting all the magnificent sites, such as Machu Picchu, the students also committed themselves to serving a small village school in an area called Calca.

Austin Peay’s 25th annual APSU Governors Bass Tournament set for May 12th

APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – Registration is now open for the 25th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament, which will be held at 6:00am, Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at Kentucky Lake.

Registration and boat launching will take place at Paris Landing State Park (Tennessee). The pre-registration fee is $120.00 (for up to two people in one boat), but after noon on May 11th, the registration fee rises to $135.00, with boats being launched by order of entry.

The tournament will begin at 6:00am, but all contestants must check in at the Paris Landing Marina between 4:00am-5:30am, with a compulsory meeting at 5:30am.

ATLASBX Co., LTD announced that the company will build its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Clarksville. The global automotive battery manufacturer will invest $75 million and create approximately 200 jobs in Montgomery County.

Clarksville Police Department Scams of the Day for April 4th, 2017

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is going to make the public aware of some of the scams that they receive daily. CPD knows there are an unlimited amounts of scams, but they are going to try and put out the ones where people have actually suffered a loss.

First scam is purchasing puppies online. Two people fell victim to a scam in which they attempted to purchase puppies online.

Clarksville Police request help identifying Porch Pirates

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – According to Clarksville Police, on Monday, April 2nd, 2018, around 3:37pm, three thieves took five filled moving boxes off the porch of an Oakmont residence.

The family recently moved here from Hawaii and the boxes contained many personal, sentimental items which cannot be replaced as well as some electronic equipment.

The car appears to be a Black Kia Soul.

Clarksville Police are looking for three people driving what appears to be a Black Kia Soul who took five boxes from an Oakmont home.
