Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says there is no threat to Clarksville High School

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – A juvenile who posted a threat on social media against Clovis High School in Clovis, New Mexico has been taken into custody by the Clovis Police Department.

The post, which referenced Clovis High School as “CHS” was mistaken for Clarksville High School in Montgomery County by several concerned citizens who shared the post Sunday night.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office officers and Clarksville Police officers will be at Clarksville High School Monday to monitor the school and surrounding area.

“We appreciate the vigilance of our citizens and take every potential threat to the safety of our schools seriously,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “We will continue to aggressively investigate every threat to ensure the safety of our schools.”

To help alleviate any concerns that still may exist, additional deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Clarksville Police Department will be present Monday at Clarksville High School to monitor the school and the surrounding area.
