APSU SoftballHomewood, AL – Austin Peay State University’s Morgan Rackel fanned nine, while driving in two versus Samford, Wednesday, as the Governors split a doubleheader with the Bulldogs, winning the opener 4-1 before falling in the nightcap, 8-4.

Tennessee Highway Patrol seeks information on Dickson County Fatal Hit and Run Crash involving Pedestrian

 

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is seeking the public’s assistance that may aid in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run crash in Dickson County. In the early hours of April 14th, 2018, preliminary information indicates a silver or grey Honda Civic, model years 1996-1998 was traveling North on Highway 46 around 4:30am-5:00am when the vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian.

The vehicle has damage to the right front corner of the vehicle. It’s missing the right side of the front bumper and may have damage to its hood, fender, and headlight with possible damage to the windshield as well.

APSU Women's VolleyballMacon, GA – Austin Peay State University beach volleyball team is set to join the Atlantic Sun Conference beginning in the 2019 season, the ASUN announced Wednesday.

Austin Peay introduced beach volleyball on May 5th, 2016, with head coach, Taylor Mott, at the helm of the Governors’ 16th intercollegiate sport.

City of Clarksville Flags to fly at half-staff to honor Barbara Bush

APSU Men’s Basketball adds guard Isaiah Hart to squad

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball and head coach Matt Figger have kicked off the spring signing period by bringing aboard guard Isaiah Hart, a Murfreesboro Tennessee native recently of Motlow State Community College.

Hart was a destructive force for the Bucks last season, averaging a team-high 20.1 points on 45.8 percent from the floor (44.6 from three), with a team-best 5.3 assists and 3.4 steals per contest en route to all-conference honors.

Nashville Sounds game at Iowa Cubs postponed due to Weather

Nashville SoundsDes Moines, IA – The 12:08pm game scheduled today between the Nashville Sounds and Iowa Cubs has been postponed due to rough weather.

The two teams will make up the game when the Sounds return to Iowa in July. Further details on the exact makeup date will be released later.

Nashville and Iowa will continue the now three-game series on Thursday night at 6:38pm. Following the series in Des Moines, the Sounds travel to Omaha, Nebraska for a four-game set before returning home on April 25th.

Meghan Dees joins the new era of Austin Peay women’s soccer under first-year head coach Naomi Kolarova. Dees, a talented defender, hails from Winter Haven, Florida, and joins the Governors’ squad from Eastern Florida State College, where she played under Jeff Carr.
