A Jewel of a Mother

Clarksville, TN – The community spirit that drives United Way’s mission is often reflective of the boundless love and hard work of mothers everywhere.

In celebration of this spirit, United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region and Elliott’s Jewelers partnered to sponsor a Youth Jewelry Design Contest that tributes mothers dedicated to giving a building a better future for their children.

The free contest, open to local youth ages 5 – 12, encouraged talent and creative expression in budding artists. Participating students submitted original artwork for a chance to have their design crafted by Elliott’s Jewelers into a custom jewelry piece for their mother.

Contest winner, Cameron Robertson, submitted a unique design reflecting her mother’s family and her fight against cancer.

“My art is five tiny arrows connected, each representing her loved ones. The middle arrow has a diamond for her and the rest have lapis on the tips. I entered this competition because my mom is fighting Hodgkins Lymphoma,” said Miss Robertson.

Of the thirty-one entries received, Cameron’s design was selected as the contest winner and crafted to her exact specifications by local jeweler Elliott Herzlich.

As a Mother’s Day surprise, Cameron received the one-of-a-kind necklace just in time to give to her mother Stephanie Robertson as a very special Mother’s Day gift.

Elliott’s Jewelers specializes in fine jewelry and personalized engraved gifts that represent an investment in love through generations.

United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region fights for the education, health and financial stability of local residents.
