Clarksville Police responded to Four Car Accident on Fort Campbell Boulevard Monday afternoon

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Monday, May 14th, 2018, around 4:00pm, Clarksville Police reports that there were four cars involved in a crash on Fort Campbell Boulevard near Airport Road.

The cars were bouncing off of each other like billiard balls on a pool table. It all started when a man driving a Ford Taurus was traveling south on Fort Campbell Boulevard and, for an unknown reason, crossed into the northbound lanes of Fort Campbell Boulevard and collided with a GMC Envoy.

The GMC Envoy spun and collided with a Toyota Yaris which was also traveling northbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

In the meantime, the driver of the Taurus tried to gain control of his vehicle, but was unsuccessful, and crashed head-on into a GMC Acadia traveling north on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Despite all of the crashing which occurred, there were no extremely serious injuries. The driver of the Taurus was taken by Life Flight in stable condition to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was treated and released on the Tuesday morning, May 15th. The other drivers were all taken by ambulance to local area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Each vehicle only had a driver and no passengers. It was noted by the investigator that all drivers {1 male, 3 females) were wearing seatbelts and airbags deployed. Based on the severity of the crashes, it is believed the proper wear of restraint devices and the deployment of installed safety equipment greatly helped reduce the injuries to the vehicle drivers.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time. The lead investigator is Officer Szczerbiak.
