Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Clarksville BBQ Bash set for October 20th

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Now’s the time to save the date for Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s BBQ Bash.

The Clarksville BBQ Bash is free to the public and will take place beginning at 11:00am, Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center at Liberty Park, 1188 Cumberland Drive.

Clarksville BBQ Bash

Participating teams from near and far will compete for cash and to see who has the best BBQ. Attendees can enjoy live music, kids activities, a cornhole tournament, local artisan vendors and so much more. Barbeque and beer will be available for purchase.

The cost to compete in the KCBS Competitors Series Barbeque Contest is $200.00 per team. Non-professional and professional teams are required to cook chicken and pork ribs, with the option of pork butt, to win the Grand Championship. In addition, the Competitors Series contest allows for alternative heats sources.

The Competitors Series Contest is not eligible for the American Royal or the Jack Daniels World Championship. In addition, teams who participate in a Competitors Series Contest will not receive KCBS Team of the Year points.

Deadline to register is Thursday, October 4th or until spots are filled (limited to 30 teams).

This year’s event will have several new twists.

They include:

People’s Choice
BBQ Bash attendees will be able to sample barbecue for free from participating KCBS BBQ teams and vote for their favorite! The winner will receive a cash prize.

Tennessee vs. Alabama Football Watch Party
Clarksville Parks and Recreation has teamed up with CDE Lightband to host an SEC Football Watch Party, UT vs. Alabama, at the Clarksville BBQ Bash, inside the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. The Watch Party is free and will be complete with big screens and seating. Game time is to be announced.

Clarksville BBQ Bash VIP Night
Barbecue lovers are invited to taste award-winning BBQ, enjoy drinks, live music and giveaways from 6:30pm-9:00pm on Friday, October 19th at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. Tickets can be purchased online at www.CityofClarksville.com/BBQBash

BBQ & Beer Fun Run
The morning of the Clarksville BBQ Bash, participants of all fitness levels are invited to run/walk a course completely inside of Liberty Park, while stopping along the way for a taste of beer and barbecue. Each participant will receive an event t-shirt and finish with a full belly! Runners are encouraged to make a day of it and stay for the free Clarksville BBQ Bash activities.
