The Calgary, Alberta, Canada native was one of 37 student-athletes to earn the honor from the Central Region, which includes the states from Carolina to Texas, while overall, 389 student-athletes from across country were named to their respective NFCA All-Region Teams.

Rackel, a junior, has posted a 22-7 record so far this season, with a 1.41 ERA and 204 strikeouts. She also recorded two saves and seven shutouts this spring.

She was also a two-time OVC Pitcher of the Week selection.

The award honors softball student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2018 NFCA Division I All-American squads.

The 2018 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced at approximately 6:00pm CDT on Wednesday, May 30th, via NFCA.org.
