Planters Bank Promotes Kelley Workman and Leigh Burden

Planters BankHopkinsville, KY – Planters Bank and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce two promotions: Kelley Workman has been named President of Planters Bank and Leigh Durden has been named Chief Credit Officer.

Prior to her recent appointment as President of Planters Bank, Kelley Workman served as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of Planters Bank. A native of Hopkinsville and a graduate of Christian County High School, Kelley graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.B.A. in Finance and Marketing as well as the Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU.

Before returning to her native Hopkinsville in 2002, Kelley and her husband, Tim, lived in Tennessee for approximately 10 years. During this time, Kelley served as the County Executive Officer for NationsBank in Marshall County, TN and then as a Senior Vice President/Regional Commercial Market Executive in the MidSouth Commercial Group of Bank of America.

Kelley is a 1989 graduate of Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County and a 2011 graduate of Leadership Kentucky. She currently serves as Chairman of the Hopkinsville Surface and Stormwater Utility, and recently served as Chairman of the Jennie Stuart Medical Center Board of Trustees. Kelley has been the Treasurer of the University Heights Academy Board of Trustees for approximately 16 years, and she is a member of First Baptist Church.

Kelley and Tim have two sons, Spencer, a physician completing his medical residency in Interventional Radiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Preston, who is a strategy consultant at Navint Partners in Chicago.

Prior to her recent appointment as Chief Credit Officer, Leigh Durden joined Planters Bank in 1999 and most recently served as Senior Vice President Corporate Banking. A native of Hopkinsville and a graduate of Hopkinsville High School, Leigh graduated from Austin Peay State University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Accounting.

Leigh graduated from the Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU in 2009. She is also a graduate of Leadership Hopkinsville and Leadership Clarksville. She served as a member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and as the Board Treasurer for Saint Luke’s Free Clinic from 2011 through 2017. Leigh currently serves on the Renaissance Design Review Board and is a Board Member of the Solid Waste Enterprise Board. Leigh has been married to John Durden since 1996.

As Planters Bank prepares to move beyond the $1 Billion in total assets mark, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce these promotions. “We are delighted with these promotions,” said Elizabeth McCoy, CEO of Planters Bank, “I know they will be instrumental in directing the bank in the coming years.” Elizabeth McCoy will remain CEO of Planters Bank.
