Science a smash hit during APSU Governor’s School for Computational Physics

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On a recent afternoon, Austin Peay State University (APSU) professor of physics Dr. Jaime Taylor decided to have a little fun when explaining key physics principals to group of high school students.

Instead of writing about inertia and conservation of energy on a white board, he had a cinderblock crushed on his chest with a sledgehammer.

Taylor did this before an audience of more than 30 of the state’s brightest high school students.

They’re on campus this summer for the Governor’s School for Computational Physics, hosted by Austin Peay State University.
