The Govs were one of 43 Division I schools to be among the honorees, joining only Belmont among Ohio Valley Conference member institutions.

“it’s an honor to be recognized as one of just 43 Division I schools in the country to achieve this award for academic excellence,” said head coach Matt Figger. “It’s first a credit to the student-athletes, who take pride in being students first and competing in the classroom like they do off the court.

“Second, it’s a credit to Katie Ethridge and her staff for helping our players achieve the goals they as a team have set for themselves. We always want to attack the classroom the same way we play on the court.”

In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA must count the grade point averages of all men’s student-athletes who competed during the 2017-18 season.
