Average Summer Gas Prices
  2014 2015 2016 2017 Today
National $3.57 $2.71 $2.23 $2.31 $2.84
Florida $3.50 $2.58 $2.19 $2.25 $2.75
Georgia $3.48 $2.57 $2.11 $2.18 $2.70
Tennessee $3.35 $2.45 $2.03 $2.08 $2.61

“Oil prices averaged $3.00-$5.00 less than the previous three weeks, allowing gas prices to lose value,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Although prices are lower, there is still volatility at the pump as gasoline demand remains high during the summer driving season and global supply concerns persist.”

Market prices were mixed last week due to higher oil production and supplies versus lower gasoline stocks in the face of strong demand. The latest supply report from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed U.S. crude production finally reached the much-anticipated 11-million-b/d mark. Conversely, gasoline stocks dropped as demand ramped up.
