“I am excited to get started on the 2018 fall season,” said Kolarova. “It’s my first fall season at Austin Peay and I’m looking forward to seeing how we progress, grow, and change as a team and a program.”

The Governors will only have three days of training before hosting Western Kentucky, 7:00pm, Saturday, August 4th in an exhibition match. The Govs play two more exhibitions on the road, Friday, August 10th, against Mississippi Valley State and Sunday, August 12th at West Alabama. The Governors officially open the season with a home match against Middle Tennessee, Friday, August 17th.

The Govs have a very balanced, experienced roster with eight seniors on the squad this year, in addition to having a multitude of sophomores who gained valuable playing experience at the collegiate level last season. In addition, Second-Team All-OVC honoree and All-Newcomer team member Morgan Drawdy returns for Austin Peay. The Govs also brought in six new faces, five being freshmen and one being a transfer.

“I know already that there are certainly bumps in the road and challenges to overcome here, but we are going to tackle those issues head on and see if we can create positive change and growth for soccer at this university,” said Kolarova. “We started laying that foundation in the spring and will continue to build upon it this fall. I’m very excited to see what the future holds for APSU soccer.”
