Clarksville Riverfest’s Rally on the Cumberland and Riverfest Regatta registration deadline is September 5th

Clarksville RiverFestClarksville, TN – Clarksville Riverfest will be hosting two water competitions as part of this year’s festival, Rally on the Cumberland and the Cardboard Boat Regatta.

Rally on the Cumberland will be September 9th, 2018 at 8:00am and Cardboard Boat Regatta will be the same day at 1:00pm.

Back for a sixth year, Rally on the Cumberland is a six-mile canoe race beginning at 8:00am Saturday, September 9th on the Cumberland River. Participants will begin at the Montgomery County Conservation Club and end at the McGregor Park boat ramp.

The race will be paddled in heats and include the following divisions: Youth Division (singles), Youth Division (doubles), Beginner (singles), Beginner (doubles), Intermediate (singles, Intermediate (doubles), Advanced (singles), and Advanced (doubles).

The entry fee is $10.00 per paddler, ages 13-17; and $20.00 per adult, ages 18 and up. All participants in the race must provide their own boat. Those who do not own a canoe/kayak, may can contact our official outfitter, Blueway Adventure at 931.320.8466.

Sailors of all kinds are invited to enter the 12th annual Riverfest Regatta, presented by US Bank, beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 8th at McGregor Park.

The Regatta is no ordinary boat race. Individuals and teams will compete in boats made of cardboard, plastic bottles, or other approved materials. Several divisions will race down the 100-yard long course on the Cumberland River. To find out the complete list of materials, visit the Festival website at www.clarksvilleriverfest.com.

The heats will be timed with the fastest time in each division declared the winner.

Competition will be in five divisions: Adult Open, Youth with Adult, Business & Industry, Church/Civic Organization, and Government. All boats will be judged prior to the racing competition for a variety of awards. All awards will be announced and presented at the conclusion of the Regatta.

The entry fees is $10.00 for Government, $15.00 for Youth or Adult, and $25.00 for Businesses and Churches/Civic organizations.

Registration for the Rally on the Cumberland and the Regatta is available online at www.ClarksvilleRiverfest.com and ends Wednesday, September 5th, 2018. No walk ups or late entries will be accepted, so register soon.

About the Riverfest Festival

Riverfest is Clarksville’s longest running community festival, and brings more than 30,000 people to the banks of the Cumberland River in an arts and recreation celebration. This year, Riverfest will be September 6th-8th, 2018. Music, art, family events, and more will fill Liberty Park on September 6th, and McGregor Park on September 7th-8th.
