Clarksville Police arrest Two Men for Vehicle Burglary

A Combination of Citizen Awareness, Field Interview, and Good Police Work Lead to Arrest of Vehicle Burglars

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department reports that the arrest of two vehicles burglars started out with a vigilant citizen calling in a suspicious vehicle around 3:00am, Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 that had been making multiple passes through a neighborhood and stopping at the corner of Kathleen Court and Pam Drive.

Clarksville Police Officers located the vehicle and it was occupied by a female who had been left with the vehicle and claimed to be waiting for two men looking for a dog.

The officers did not see the men but documented their contact with the female.

In the morning, residents from Kathleen Court started calling 911 about vehicle burglaries which had happened overnight. dank Detective Bradley’s investigation identified two men as suspects, James Adams and Billy Hollis. They were the men in the area of the burglaries who “were looking for a dog” during the same time window when the burglaries occurred.

On August 21st, 2018, after interviewing the men, James Adams, age 20, was booked and charged with three counts of Burglary and had outstanding warrants served for Theft and Escape. His bond is set at $100,000.

Billy Hollis, age 22, was booked and charged with four counts of Burglary, Contraband in a Penal Institution, and Drug Methamphetamine Violation. His bond is set at $150,000.

Methamphetamine and a counterfeit $50.00 bill were located in Hollis’s property when he was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
