Titans Looking for First Preseason Win

Tennessee TitansThe Titans hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week in their second outing of the preseason. Although the Titans starters jumped out to an early lead, the Buccaneers took control in the second quarter and ultimately prevailed by a final score of 30-14.

Taywan Taylor jump started the Titans offense on the unit’s second series of the game. The second-year receiver took a quick screen pass from quarterback Marcus Mariota and raced 47 yards for a touchdown to give the Titans the lead with four minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Taylor, a third-round pick in 2017, finished the night with team highs of four receptions and 95 receiving yards.

Mariota played two series, completing four of seven passes for 80 yards and one touchdown. His two-game preseason totals include 10 passing attempts, six completions, 122 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions and a 142.5 passer rating in three total drives.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh SteelersThe Steelers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 31-14 in their first preseason game, but last week at Green Bay, they fell 51-34 at the hands of the Packers.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, a six-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time Super Bowl champion, is entering his 15th NFL season. Mike Tomlin is beginning his 12th season as the head coach of the Steelers. In his first 11 years on the job, he led the Steelers to the playoffs eight times, including six division titles. The 2017 Steelers won the AFC North before falling to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the divisional round of the playoffs.
