Austin Peay State University Men’s Cross Country kicked off season at Saluki Invitational

APSU Men's Cross CountryCarbondale, IL – Austin Peay State University men’s cross country wrapped things up at the Saluki Invitational led by sophomore Thomas Porter for the Govs, who finished 12th in the individuals with his career best time of 16:32.58.

Next to cross the line for the Govs was Wesley Gray with a time of 16:47.51.

Senior Hezron Kiptoo just missed breaking the 17-minute barrier with 17:11.82.

Tyler Smith and Nash Young both crossed the line back to back with a seven-second interval between the two; at 17:29.64 and 17:36.51, respectively, both cracked the top-25 for the Govs in the individuals.

Sophomore Daniel Davis finished 17:51.40, while Joseph Redman and Andrew Abel just missed the 19-minute mark with the times of 19:03.54 and 19:31.94.

The Governors are set for Huntsville, Alabama in the UAH Chargers Open next Saturday.
