APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityMacon, GA – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s soccer team rebounded from two straight losses to defeat Mercer, 1-0, Friday, at Betts Stadium.

The 1-0 scoreline was very misleading as the two teams combined for 34 shots, the most involving the Govs (4-2) this season.

Johnathon Genes is wanted by the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for Attempted First Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Employing a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.

APSU Women's VolleyballEvansville, IN – Off to its best start since 1984, Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) volleyball team will look to match the program’s record start when it competes in the Dunn Hospitality Invitational hosted by Evansville, Saturday.

The Governors will face Northern Kentucky in a 10:00am contest before meeting host Evansville in a 3:00pm affair at Meeks Family Fieldhouse.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Senior setter Kristen Stucker, of the Austin Peay State University ( APSU )volleyball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The Johnston, Iowa native earned her conference-record 16th Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week honor after posting 134 assists (13.4 per set) and piloting the Govs to a .219 attack percentage at the Blue Raider Bash last weekend. In pushing the Govs to 6-0 on the season—the program’s best start since 1986—to earn her second all-tournament honor in as many weekends.

Manna Café Ministries receives $29,000 Walmart Foundation Grant to Update Commercial Kitchen

Manna Café MinistriesClarksville, TN – Recently, Manna Café received a $29,675 “Kitchen Reboot” grant from the Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Program. Funding will be used to update and expand the commercial kitchen at the Franklin Street location.

Each year, 23,000 hot, nutritious meals are prepared in this kitchen for Mobile Cafe, Manna Café’s soup kitchen program.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Head coach Jeremy Pruitt will make his Neyland Stadium debut as Tennessee Vols Football welcomes in-state foe East Tennessee State to Knoxville for its home opener on Saturday afternoon.

Kickoff for Saturday’s contest is slated for 3:00pm CT on the SEC Network with Taylor Zarzour (play-by-play) and Matt Stinchcomb (analyst) calling the action in the booth and Kris Budden reporting from the sidelines. Vol Network radio affiliates will have a live audio broadcast with Bob Kesling, Tim Priest and Brent Hubbs. Sirius (Channel 113) and XM satellite radio (Channel 190) will also carry the game.
