APSU Men’s Cross Country has strong runs at Rhodes College Inviatational

APSU Men's Cross CountryMemphis, TN – Three Governors led the way for Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s cross country team, earning top-25 finishes to pace the Governors to a sixth-place finish at the Rhodes College Invitational.

Wesley Gray led the way for the Govs in the eight-kilometer race, placing 14th with a recorded time of 26:36.7.

Less than 20 seconds later, sophomore Thomas Porter crossed the finish line with a time of 26:51.8 (18th). Senior Hezron Kiptoo also earned another top-25 finish, placing 24th with a time of 27:11.2. 

The duo of Nash Young and Andrew Abel finished with less than three seconds between each other, placing 89th and 90th with the times of 29:57.3 and 29:59.8. 

Sophomore Daniel Davis just missed the 30-minute barrier as he finished with a time of 30:01.1 (92nd). Freshman Joseph Redman finished off for the Govs and placed 105th with the time of 30:34.2. 

Austin Peay head coach Doug Molnar was encouraged by Gray and Porter’s performances. “Those two and Hezron got out early and that was the big difference this week,” said Coach Molnar.
