Goodley fired a two-under 70 to open the day and was briefly tied atop the leaderboard before she and other leaders began to shuffle back to the pack.

Her second-round 77 put her at 147 (70-77), three shots behind leader Sarah McDowell of Murray State with 18 holes to play.

Linette Holmslykke and Jahaanvie Walia, who were the individual medalists two weeks ago at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, are also near the top of the individual leaderboard, as is Lipscomb’s Sarah Hinton; she and Walia are tied with Goodley at three-over.

The Eldorado, Illinois native led the Govs with seven birdies, while her 4.05 average on par-4 attempts and 2.88 on par-3s were each one shot off the tournament low.

Austin Peay State University freshman Shelby Darnell was neck-and-neck with Goodley in the first round, shooting a 73 to open before a second-round 82 dropped her to 24th; she’s one shot ahead of junior Meghann Stamps (78-78—156) and two up on senior Ashton Goodley (79-78—157), the latter of whom canned a team-best 25 pars of the 104 the Govs put up on Monday, second only to Murray State over the opening 36 holes. Stamps recorded a 36 on the front nine in the second round, ending her day on a particularly high note after starting the round with the back nine.

Freshman Taylor Dedmen (81-80—161) closed out the Austin Peay lineup, while senior Reagan Greene enjoyed another quality outing on the bayou; the Clarksville native is tied for 17th overall and second among individuals at 151 (75-76), while her 5.25 average on par-5 holes is tied for the team high with Ashton Goodley.

After 36 holes, the Govs are tied for sixth with Lipscomb but are less than 10 shots behind Lamar as they search for another top-three finish. Austin Peay State University will be paired with Tennessee Tech and host ULM in Tuesday’s final round, set for an 8:15am (CT) tee time.
