The event also marks the closing of the regular season for the pioneer settlement, situated on 40 beautiful rural acres about 15 miles south of Clarksville at 4711 Weakley Road in Southside, Tennessee.

The privately-owned, off-the-beaten-path pioneer settlement first opened in 1974 to give children a “hands-on” experience, outside of the classroom, about life in the 1800s.

It’s been open to the public since 1997, recreating the past with 18 historical structures each filled with authentic period furnishings dating from 1830-1870 that show a glimpse of life before and after the Civil War.
