APSU Women’s Basketball falls at Cincinnati, 69-48

APSU Sports Information

APSU Women's BasketballCincinnati, OH – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team fought valiantly, but fell to Cincinnati, 69-48, Tuesday, at Fifth Third Arena.

The Govs (0-1) came out and matched the physicality and tempo of the Bearcats (1-0), but turnovers off the Bearcats press kept killing the Govs as they tried to spoil the grand re-opening of Fifth Third Arena.

Austin Peay State University to hold Military Appreciation Football Game November 17th

Austin Peay State University (APSU)

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – November isn’t a typical month at Austin Peay State University (APSU). As the state’s leader in higher education for military-affiliated students, the institution traditionally recognizes the entire month, with its connection to Veterans Day, as an extended salute to all veterans and active-duty military personnel.

In previous years, the Austin Peay State University football team has worn special uniforms to honor the military.

Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink opening November 23rd

Downtown Commons

Downtown Commons Ice RinkMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County is thrilled to announce the opening of the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink on November 23rd, 2018! This is the second consecutive year for the outdoor rink, which will be significantly larger than it was last year.

During most of the year, the Downtown Commons is a large open lawn, but in late fall through early winter it is transformed into an ice rink. Although Downtown Commons was not complete when the ice rink opened last November, it was still very successful with more than 9,000 skaters and thousands of onlookers. This year, with the park completed and a larger rink, at least twice as many skaters are expected. Golly G’s will also be up and running ready to serve at Downtown Commons when the rink opens.

Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan – Soldiers from the 962nd Quartermaster Company (Mortuary Affairs), out of Fort Shafter, Hawaii, arguably have one of the hardest jobs in the Army. They arrived in Afghanistan from all parts of the Pacific: Alaska, American Samoa, Guam, and Hawaii, and they are here for one purpose.

The U.S. Army Reserve unit is responsible for receiving, processing, safeguarding and transporting the remains and accompanying personal effects of U.S. and Coalition fallen service members, contractors, and civilians throughout Afghanistan.

Dodging the Roadkill: Ethanol Part 2

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – Last year I wrote an article about Ethanol, and its effects on motorcycles and small engines.  You can read it here.

I’m not an expert on much, especially motorcycles.  I don’t give advice, I share my experiences and opinions.  I learn by riding and by riding with other brothers who know WAY more about being a biker than me.

I’ve made it clear that Dodging the Roadkill, is about my personal journey and the people and places I meet along the way.  I learn from my friends and followers and by trying new things.  I’ve learned so much over the course of these three years, it’s unbelievable and those of you who follow my blog have enlightened me on many things.
