Montgomery County Animal Care and ControlMontgomery County, TN – In an effort to make the public aware of the animal problem in Montgomery County, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control has released the statistics on the intake, adoption and euthanasia for the month of October, 2018.

Montgomery County Animal Care and Control took in a total of 404 animals (113 kittens, 73 cats, 4 feral cats, 1 wildlife, 31 puppies and 182 dogs).

On the out take side, 298 animals were processed out of the facility: 165 animals were adopted (35 kittens, 40 cats, 1 other, 7 puppies and 79 dogs); 75 animals were transferred to rescue organizations and 44 dogs, 1 puppies and 3 cats were reclaimed by their owner.

Sadly 99 animals were euthanized (75 cats and 24 dogs).

Animal Care and Control had a busy month but it was a good month. We implanted 177 microchips just in October, that is truly awesome! So to date we have issued/implanted 294 Microchips since September 1st! That is nearly 300 Dogs and Cats we can now reunite with their families!

Montgomery County Animal Care and Control wants to thank ALL of their volunteers for all the hard work, time, and effort that have been putting into the shelter each and every day. Each day they see several volunteers walking dogs, caring for cats, transporting dogs and cats, its like a controlled tornado of activity! They are all great people and so patient.
