The Governors (1-2) come into Wednesday’s game after a tough loss at Southeastern Conference opponent Vanderbilt. The Govs were right in the game at halftime, only down by seven, but Vanderbilt blew the game open during the third period.

The Govs came out hot, shooting over 50 percent, but could not sustain it the rest of the game. In addition, Vanderbilt shot over 60 percent from the field. The Govs also shot 41 percent from the free-throw line, compared to Vandy’s 76 percent.

There were positives for the Govs though. Head coach David Midlick got good scoring production from his two freshmen, Kasey Kidwell and Maggie Knowles, who each set career highs in their young careers. The Govs also only turned the ball over seven times, the lowest number in two seasons.

About Trevecca

The Trojans (0-2) have dropped their opening two games of the season, but defeated Middle Tennessee, who beat Vanderbilt, in an exhibition earlier this season. The Govs are 4-0 all-time against the Trojans, including three wins in the past three seasons.

The main offensive threat for the Trojans has been senior guard Callie Hackett. Hackett is the leading scorer for Trevecca at 10.5 points a game and is shooting 50 percent from three-point range. She is also the minutes leader for the Trojans.

For Govs home games, courtside seating is still available for many APSU basketball games, both men and women. The courtside seating offering is unique among Ohio Valley Conference schools. Contact Katie Locke in the ticket office for more information.
