Clarksville Police Department adds K9 Arlo to Crime Fighting Team

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) would like to welcome the newest member to its six, four legged, K9 crime fighting team – ARLO. ARLO is now part of CPD’s K9 unit and is assigned to Officer Seth Paugh.

Officer Paugh’s previous K9 partner MAIN, passed away in June 2018 after battling cancer. ARLO is a 14 month old male German Shepherd/Malinois mix, hails from Hungary and cost about $7,000.

He is teamed up with Officer Paugh who has over 3 years of K9 handler experience and seven years in law enforcement.

Officer Paugh and ARLO just completed an intense six week patrol/narcotics K9 handler training course in North Carolina.

The course gave them an opportunity to bond and learn to work as a team training on such areas as: apprehension techniques, article search/evidence recovery, open area searches utilizing airborne scents to detect hidden suspects, building searches, tracking/trailing over different surfaces, and narcotic detection and obedience techniques.
