#9 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball gets 65-55 home win over Stetson

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The sophomore duo of Rennia Davis and Evina Westbrook combined for 44 points to lead No. 9/9 Tennessee to a 65-55 victory over Stetson at Thompson-Boling Arena on Wednesday night.  
 
Davis (24 points and nine rebounds) and Westbrook (20 points) combined to hit 20 of 21 free throws in the win, as the Lady Vols finished 25 of 30 for the game from the charity stripe for 83.3 percent. Freshman Zaay Green tallied eight points and five rebounds, while Mimi Collins was strong on the glass with seven points and seven rebounds.

Clarksville Police Department honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) had the honor of being recognized at the Statewide Candlelight Vigil and Awards Ceremony for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) held in Nashville TN, Tuesday, December 4th, 2018, at the Nashville Airport Marriott Hotel.

At the annual event, MADD Tennessee honors and remembers victims of substance impaired driving and underage drinking and recognizes enforcement heroes for their commitment to protecting Tennesseans from these crimes.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving gave the Clarksville Police Department the Middle Tennessee Outstanding Agency Award.

Clarksville Police continue search for Wallet Thief

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police interviewed the man in video in the pickup and it was determined the man was not involved with the fraudulent use of the credit card whatsoever, but once again CPD are still trying to identify the female in the photograph.

Clarksville Police report that on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 around 5:30pm a man accidentally left his wallet at a Madison Street grocery store checkout stand. He went back around 7:30pm and it was gone.

This is the second of two annual meetings between the AFC South rivals. They met in Week 3 in Jacksonville, a game the Titans won by a final score of 9-6.

Clarksville Police reports several Weather Related Crashes

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police report that there were ten reported weather related crashes between 6:00am-8:00am this morning, December 5th, 2018.

Most of them occurred as a result of hitting icy patches on overpasses or bridges. There were no serious injuries sustained in any of the crashes.

There was a patrol car which was stationary, unoccupied for traffic control when another vehicle hit ice and crashed into it.

Clarksville Police continue search for Homicide Suspects Vincent Merriweather, Marques Kelly

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police continue to search for two homicide suspects, Vincent Bryan “Rabbit” Merriweather and Marques Lamaar “Cheez” Kelly with active warrants for Criminal Homicide, involved in the shooting death of Aantorious Gallion, occurring November 19th, 2018.

Clarksville Police Officers are aggressively tracking down any leads in the case. One of the leads took officers to a Yankee Drive residence where a search warrant was served.

Clarksville Police request Public Help Identifying Wallet Thieves

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police report that on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 around 5:30pm a man accidentally left his wallet at a Madison Street grocery store checkout stand. He went back around 7:30pm and it was gone.

The credit card was used multiple times after it was taken. There is a photo below of a woman that was caught on video picking up the wallet (video wasn’t available) from inside the grocery store.

Fort Campbell to hold Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony December 7th

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation will host the Annual Division Tree Lighting Ceremony to kick off the holiday season on Friday, December 7th, 2018 at Division Headquarters.

The ceremony will begin at 5:30pm. This event is free and open to the public.

The ceremony will include holiday music from the 101st Airborne Division Band, season’s greetings from Fort Campbell and 101st Airborne Division leadership, caroling, holiday activities, a surprise visitor from the North Pole and more.

TBI charges Robert Mark of Houston County with Abuse of a Corpse

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has resulted in the arrest of a Houston County man, after the body of his live-in girlfriend was found in their home.

At the request of 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch, on Monday, December 3rd, 2018 TBI Special Agents joined deputies with the Houston County Sheriff’s Department in investigating the report of a body found in a home on Old Stewart Road in Houston County.
