APSU Basketball forward Terry Tayor named OVC Co-Player of the Week

APSU Sports Information

APSU Men's BasketballBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) sophomore forward Terry Taylor, of the men’s basketball team, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week of December 17th, 2018.

2018-19 APSU Men's Basketball - Terry Taylor

Taylor broke out of a miniature malaise with a career-high 32 points and 11 rebounds in Austin Peay’s 95-68 win against Purdue Fort Wayne, Saturday, which brought the Govs nonconference home schedule to an end.

After not scoring 16 points in a contest since the Govs November 18th game against Campbell in Jamaica, Taylor posted 18 points in the first half alone against the Mastodons. He sank a career-best 14 shots from the floor and also dished out a career-high five assists in the process.

This is Taylor’s second OVC Player of the Week honor this season, and the second of his career; he also brought home the November 19th award. He shares the honor with Belmont’s Kevin McClain.

Taylor and the Govs seek revenge for their November 18th loss against Campbell this weekend in St. Petersburg, Florida—the rematch is Austin Peay’s opening contest in the 2018 St. Pete Shootout, hosted by Eckerd College.
